My name is  GunmetalHime,  but you can call me Gun, Hime, or whatever as long as you don't call me before noon. I've been streaming for 4 years, and mainly focus on RPGs, JRPGs, and Tycoon, City Builder, and Survival Sandbox games where I can make  challenges around the gameplay  and  explore the fun things and story beats that happen around the difficulties the challenge runs create.  I can't wait to see you in chat! BUSINESS INQUIRIES : [email protected]

GLOSSARY

LOCATION :   STONEWALL CITY
Stonewall City is a large, Cyberpunk architecture city on the eastern coast of the country of Milstari. The name comes from the large stone structure that surrounds the downtown area which upholds the Barrier, which was constructed in the medieval era. Despite the sci-fi aesthetics, most of the technology is based on the magic of the Soul Captors, and is powered by Soul Stone created by the Captors themselves. It is here that the Captor Mai Tamaki, better known as GunmetalHime, has made her home.
.                                                                                              .POI :   THE BARRIER
Constructed and charged in the 1400s, the Barrier is the main line of defense against invading monsters and eldritch creatures, and also functions as an interdimensional airport for friendly travelers to the plane Stonewall resides in.
.                                                                                              .POI :   ARMORY ARCADE
The Armory Arcade is the home and business of Mai Tamaki, also known as GunmetalHime, or the Adjustor. While the main business runs, offering retro cabinets, a LAN and Internet cafe, and an upstairs restaurant and bar, Gun also quietly offers dubiously legal Adjustment services to her active Soul Captor and Magitek Installed clients. In doing so, she provides a very unique service that very, very few Captors are able to offer; the full readjustment, cleansing, and connection of new Soul Stones to existing Soul Keys, and attunement of Keys and Stones to Augments. The process was not difficult to learn, given the natural aptitude of Gun's magic, but extremely hard to master. In that vein, even in semi-retirement from fighting monsters, Gun is a priceless resource for Stonewall's Captors and Mercenaries alike(and she charges accordingly)
.                                                                                              .POI :   MORELLI CORP.
Headed by CEO and famous Soul Captor Dante Morelli, Morelli Corp focuses on a large variety of industrial, scientific, and magical areas of business. They are the premiere fabricator of mass produced Augments, and with OS and InfoSEC as strong as they have, their scandals are few, if any, aside from one. Morelli's son, Alexander Morelli(and another Captor), is next in line to run the business, but has been missing for 2 years at this point. Dante himself seems unworried by this, assuring everyone Alex will be back soon, and that nothing is wrong. However, some odd and grey-area legal stock transactions on the back end may prove this to not be the case.
.                                                                                              .

SOUL CAPTORS
Soul Captors, more commonly called Captors, are the primary magic users of Milstari, and as such are often held in high regard. Even in modern days, their services are useful for powering all of the magitek in the world. While it is more common for AFAB people to be Captors(1 in every 100), it is also possible for AMAB people to be Captors(1 in 10,000). However, even with a Soul Key, the item that is bound to them that allows them to channel magic, not all Captors are capable of fighting the monsters that break through the Barrier, and instead use their magic to create Magitek augments, offer minor magic services, or run their own businesses with the assistance of what magic they can harness.
.                                                                                              .SOUL KEYS
Soul Keys are the badge, main channeling object, and magic source of every Soul Captor. Many established Captors have Keys interchained to auxiliary Stones all over their body, connected by magically imbued silver, gold, or any other metal. It is common for Adjustors to be the ones to complete these augments, both on themselves and other Soul Captors, thereby increasing their effective mana pool, and access to different kinds of magic than what may be innate. Moreover, Soul Keys are inherent to a Captor's survival; if one were to fall in battle, they will retreat to their Soul Key until they're healed, or reformed enough to continue existence. For this reason, most Soul Captors are effectively immortal, barring outside interference.
.                                                                                              .AUGMENTS
Ranging from minor, uninvasive, and boring, to full on Adeptus Mechanicus robot tentacles, Augments(colloquially called "Augs") are something nearly every resident of Stonewall has. They are scientific and magic, combined together in the almost holy creation of MagiTek. Entirely logical, and powered by magic, you can have your eyes replaced with Augments, your fingers replaced by Augments, your skin, hair, limbs, anything. They close the gap for non-Captor humans and Captors, and both sides see them as a boon in general. Of course, Captors also Augment themselves, but they rarely need outside power or maintenance due to their natural abilities. Non-Captor citizens will often finding themselves in need of purchasing Stones to power their Augments, much like magical batteries.

STORY BLURB

Adjuster's Qualms

In the heart of Stonewall City, beneath the glowing neon of cybernetic billboards and between the towering skyscrapers that seemed to pierce the heavens, stood the Armory Arcade. The building—half rusted, half radiant—glowed dimly in the night, framed by a haphazard array of cables and steel beams. It was a relic of an era long past, a place where ancient tech met the future head-on, and, above all, where secrets and magic were traded like currency.Mai Tamaki, known to those who ran the far corners of the Net as GunmetalHime, sat behind the bar in the quiet upper floor of the arcade. Her fingers traced the cold, smooth surface of an unmarked Soul Stone she had just condensed. Despite her attention to her work, her eyes darted to the shadows in the room’s corners, assessing each person who passed through the dimly lit door on the way to the arcade or the LAN rooms. She was the proprietor, after all, and needed to keep an eye on everyone who came in, left, and didn’t leave. Those who didn’t likely required her other services.Mai wasn’t just an adjustor of Soul Keys and Augments. She was a master, one of the few who could recalibrate a Soul Key’s connection to its Soul Stone with such precision that a Captor could augment their powers beyond natural limits. For that, her services were priceless--dangerously so. And in a city where power was the coin of the realm, she had a lot of clients, both legal and otherwise. The door to the arcade’s bar creaked open, and in stepped Leo Crane. He was a lanky figure wearing a sleek black coat, his hair swept back in a neatly maintained quiff. He didn’t look like much, but those eyes, sharp and calculating, spoke volumes. They were the eyes of a man who’d seen too much and knew far too little. Mai knew that look, given that she used to see it in the mirror herself. Didn’t help his case that she was already aware of him, and who he was with, just by the MagiTek eyes he had. Morelli Corp. Buh.“Miss Tamaki,” Leo greeted, his voice chipper but tinged with something that felt almost like disdain. “We hear you’re offering your services again.”She leaned back in her chair, eyeing him steadily. Godsdamned Corpos, always with the “we” and “us”.“Does your boss know how rude you are, barging into my place of business without even introducing yourself?”Leo’s teeth visibly gritted, then relaxed as he sighed.“Leo Crane, with Morelli Corp. Would you like my business card too, or are you just testing me?” His eyes steadfastly held contact with Mai’s, and he continued his pitch. “We need your help. Mister Morelli requested you specifically.”Mai's expression remained neutral. There was no love between her and the corporate giants that ran Stonewall City. But she had her own rules, her own morals, and they definitely allowed her to help them… at a cost. Especially if Dante, her old mentor, was asking, she couldn’t really say no.“I don’t work for free, Crane. Especially not for Dante.”“It’s not just for Mister Morelli. It’s for Alexander.”The mention of Alexander caused a small flicker of surprise in Mai’s expression, but she quickly masked it. Internally, her mind raced. Alexander Morelli, the heir to the Morelli empire, missing for two years now. They used to fight the Daemons that came through the Barrier together. Dante, his father, was her mentor, but Alex was her closest friend other than Emi. His disappearance wasn’t unexpected, but it stung even now that he never told her where he was going. She studied Leo more carefully now.“You know where he is?”Leo hesitated for a moment, then nodded. “We have his Key. He’s in stasis. It’s been tampered with, and he cannot come out of stasis.”The hairs on the back of Mai’s neck stood up. Soul Keys didn’t just get negatively tampered with willy nilly-- not unless someone was trying to steal a Captor’s life force or manipulate them in some way. A Captor’s Soul Key was sacred, a life-bond. Tampering with it could render a Captor vulnerable, open them to manipulation by outside forces or, worst case scenario, kill them.“You want me to fix his Key?”“We want you to attempt contact with him,” Leo said. “Even Mister Morelli isn’t able to, we thought his old team might be our best bet.”Mai took a deep breath, feeling the familiar tingling warmth of her magic coil in her chest. She was good at what she did, but this wasn’t just an ordinary job. This was a mess that absolutely would pull her back into a world she’d long tried to leave behind. But still, Alex being stasis-locked wasn’t something she could ignore.“Give me your contact info. I’ll be in touch one way or another.”Crane obliged, stepping closer and holding out his left forearm. Mai tapped her left forearm to his, and with a light flash they’d established an encrypted communication line. Almost immediately, Crane quickly made his way to the door he had only just come through.“Don’t disappoint us, Miss Tamaki.”The door hadn’t even fully swung shut yet, and Mai had a bottle of whiskey in her hand, ready to mix a very stiff drink for herself. Really, tonight? And the bastard couldn’t even be bothered to leave her a tip for her time. Whatever.“Not like Dante’s ever really picked the ones with social tact,” she chuckled into her whiskey tumbler.
